Real Modeling Tools for Second Life

Instead of the collaboratively-cool, but hobbled, in-world modeling tools, you can now build Second Life models in a pro application. It’s Maya for now, with a 3ds Max exporter in the works.

But… can you build a scene using your normal modeling process and with the click of a button pull it into Second Life? Unfortunately, no. The exporter supports just a fraction of the full Maya/Max capabilities.

The company developing the export plug-ins is SIM Tools.

According to studies by people who do studies, regular hand-washing is the number one step Americans can take to reduce mortality from the spread of infectious diseases. If nothing else, the iPhone, with its shiny glass face, will get us all to wash our greasy little mits more often.
