After hearing raves about it, I’m watching the Planet Earth series on Netflix. Although they clearly spent mega-bucks to capture amazing and beautiful footage, there’s no real narrative thread to each episode. The end effect is that the experience is a bit like reading an encyclopedia–the content is high-quality, but lacks a story to hold it all together.
